If conditions are similar, come legal sat morning it will be tragic.

Would that be me?

Not this time. Although I do wish you were closer, sadly I did not locate any birds on that body of water. Tried all week with no luck. I did mark several spots that looked good. Thanks again for your help!

There just isn't hardly any birds in the area. It has been terrible. Hopefully the spots you showed me will pay off in the regular season.

Well that was certainly a fun weekend.
The teal showed up on my lake Sunday.
I think they literally arrived while I was
sitting in the marsh waiting for LST. I
heard the rush of wings go overhead in
the dark one way, then heard it again later.
Within 60 seconds of my taking my spot,
2 landed in my spread with 40 approaching.
Fun weekend. I might be feeling a little
under the weather Wed morning. I can
feel something coming on.

Figures some would show up after the weekend

Yeah actually saw a medium size group this am maybe 30-40 birds. Shot at 2 sets of double's blue wing teal and managed to bag a single by herself  . The two groups I missed was kind of a bummer but I saw some birds and was happy. After that 3 came in and almost landed dead center in my spread until they saw me standing on the side of the boat taking a piss :fingerhead: . I don't know if it is the light rain right now but most of the action I had was between 10:00-11:00am.

On a side note, I had about 10-15 black belly whistling ducks fly 8 feet above my boat never even new I was there. I was more shocked to see how slow they were flying.

Orlando-East Central Florida area.

That's good to hear. Hopefully this front will have some more before it goes out again. Thank you!

So today was the last day I am able to get out for the early Teal and wood duck. Buddy and I downed a bird each and this time should have been more, I don't know whats going on but I am missing to much and they were so close too. Maybe just excited that I am shooting at ducks again. Will be heading to the range to shoot some clays for practice. Anyways, mostly singles today as they flew into the spread and then had 1 group of 4 circle and try to land. Saw 4 or 5 Black Belly Whistling Ducks as they flew over. I can only hope they are here when the real season opens. Seems to me the teal are here and I am having better luck than last year with teal. I did not; however, see the large group like the day before. To me it is worth getting out, enjoying the sunrise, having a few laughs, and downing a bird or two. What a great sport!

I can relate.
The 2 teal that landed in my decoys,
I decided to walk out of my spot to flush them
up. The great thing about doing this is you can
sight in on em before they move. You know where
they are, and are gonna be. They'll be moving slow.
And they're close. Yet I missed. Twice. From 25 yds
max. I just suck is all. That's my only logical
conclusion.
