Be careful hunting public waters!

Postby stumphunter » Thu Dec 21, 2006 3:44 pm

My brother and I were going hunting yesterday morning in an area we had scouted and found the ducks comming in very heavy. Well we got to the spot way before daylight and set up our decoys and as soon as the sun came up we had ducks comming in all around us. Well we got our first shot off and a couple of minutes later we heard the firing of what sounded like a 22 rifle, well we hunt flooded swamps for woodies so we thought it was someone hunting squirrells so we paid it no mind. after a couple of minutes the 22 shots got closer and closer and accompanied by yelling. The guy was spouting off in four letter words about how he hates duck hunters and how we were messing up his deer hunting. remember we are hunting State land! well anyway the shots started whizzing over our heads so we haulled ass and called fish and game.

Glad to here you guys are ok!! You guys are lucky you didnt get hit. Not that it would have been the best of ideas but I would have had to return the favor. Shooting at me wouldn't go over very well.

Wow! good to here no one was hurt! I had a buddy few years back deer hunting and had a group of activist follow him around banging pots and crap.

So! that law in florida it would be legal to shoot back but not worth it!
