There is something wrong with being able to hunt in January with shorts and flipflops on! I cant wait to move out of FL.

Well I finally broke down and bought a therma cell yesterday because it is so warm that the mosquitos have been really bad sitting in the dark waiting for day lite to come. But I still take the heat over the snow and ice anyday. May be we will get some cool weather for Wensdays hunt if we are lucky.

I always have the thermacell with me. And I where a bug tamer jacket while I wait in the dark. There worth a million dollars when you need em.

Just count yourself lucky you have not gotten some funky amoeba or bacterial infection from wading without them. That day we went I ended up taking my waders off while pushing the boat. The next morning I had a real nasty rash/infection on my leg that hurt like the dickens. Doc said it was a bacteria in the mud that caused it.

Yikes! that sucks buddy! But I'll take my chances. 20 years and counting. I grew up in Florida I probably used to the crap in the water.

30+ here bubba, been in the water all of them...well since I was old enough to be in the boat unattended. Grew up commercial fishing on Lake George. Its just a matter of being in the right mud at the wrong time.

And you found the wrong mud on the wrong day for more than 1 reason. Just was not a good day for you! So ! lets just avoid that area.
