Best hunt of my life this afternoon!!

Postby caleb » Fri Jan 12, 2007 9:49 pm

As I was floating into my spot I pushed about 300 ringers out.

So I was 3 minutes into setting up the decoys when they started coming back. 4's 5's 1's and 2's. I was shooting from the middle of my spread. If i was a better shot I would have limited out after 9 decoys in the water and the blind not even up. So I killed two from the water. I stopped putting out decoys and set up the blind. I sat there for about 1.5 hours letting them come in and land all around me. I had about 60 within 50 yards all ringers! I waited till there was four flying over ready to land and I jumped up and started shooting(I did mention I am not a great shot right?) So I killed two more and decided to head for the house!
Best day on the water I ever had!!

And after all that complining of it being hot, see if you had moved out of FL you'd have never had such a great hunt :toofunny:

 ya' I guess FL will do for now

I went out this morning and saw even more than yesterday. If I had a dog I would have left with my limit of ringers(lost 2 in the weeds) and I finally killed a hoodie(hen, but i'll take it). I really want to go tommorow but I blew off the shot show today to kill ducks so I am off to the show tommorrow morning.

The ringers were flying pretty good again this morning, had my 6 by 9;00. Would have finished alot earlier if I had not been shooting so bad today.
