Yes, went w/Seth. He killed limit as well but couldn't find one.
This was on the St. John's River east of Sanford.
That's some good shooting. Those things are hard to hit. Like trying to hit a mosquito with a blow dart.

Well, you should have seen how many we shot at.
I think it speaks more to the numbers that day
than our accuracy.
We need to get together. I havent shot at a snipe in years. They are good eating too. You find any dove yet? BTW, Ryan had his son and he left today to meet with his company. He leaves for Texas on Friday.

TM - yes we do, I'm up for a snipe shoot anytime.
Will be in Okeechobee next weekend helping a buddy
break in his new duck boat (scouting, figuring out how
to run his big-ass mud motor), etc. But after that
I'll be hunting ducks or snipe or dove through the season.
We found a cool field thanks to CF *********** - been
2x and found a few dove, they hadn't really started coming
in big numbers yet. It's between Orlando and Tampa, closer
to Orlando. At least Ryan got to see his son before he got
shipped out! Sucks he won't be able to hunt this year, maybe
they can shoot some goats or something over there.

CF - Yes! It was a very long walk. I kind of just went in
big circles in the area where I hopped out of the boat. The
birds would fill back in the areas I'd already worked through
an hour earlier. Had to stay close enough to the boat to stock
back up on shells.

Have you scouted X lake any lately? Ive been wanting to go take a look and see if anything has made its way down. Trying to determine where I want to start my opener. I wont be able to go Sat, Sun, or Mon. Pulling for a Tuesday hunt, so if you hit the opener ya gotta tell me how you do.

Last time I was there was 2 weekends back, nothing but a couple handfuls of coots and the resident mottleds/woodies.
During early season, the woodies were thick and a large flock (50-100) BWT came in, got shot at over the course of 1 day, and
moved on. I want to pop out there this weekend and see what's changed. 2 weeks and a couple of cold fronts could be the difference... I expect to see more out there. We'll see. In the meantime, I'm going to the SJR to snipe hunt again this weekend and will keep my eyes on the sky just to see if anything is moving in/over/past. I'll let you know how opening day goes for me, I plan to be at Lake X for it.

Sounds like yall had a great day of shooting. Gunboy and Nacho are threatining another dove hunt soon. As soon as I get a firm day Ill let yall know.
Sounds good.
Opening day, Phase II (Nov 16) me and Seth will be down in Okeechobee
helping a friend play with his new duck boat and mud motor. Kind of a scouting
trip on a Lake I won't be hunting on opening day.
