First trip out

Postby whaknstak » Wed Nov 27, 2013 8:32 am

Finally got out this morning for the first time. I went solo and took my layout boat. Putting in a little cove off the highway with nobody else around. 30 minutes before legal two guys in a Jon come in 125 yards behind me right on the edge of the road. I flashed em but that's where they were sitting. The wind was brutal blowing from the west. First light a group of 12-15 came in and I shot my first triple. Shot six total and immediately started to pick up my decoys. Being that was right in the middle of the cove, they had to watch me flare all the birds still coming in. They eventually picked up and left before I finished getting all my dekes picked up. They never fired a shot.

Nice way to start the season, regardless of the idiots.

I bought it used from bigbend. This is the first time I have taken it out. But I like it a lot so far

It doesn't paddle well. But with a trolling motor its great. Its all molded plastic and pretty much bullet proof. I was hiding in nothing but lily pads.
