Duck Hunting Polk County

Postby srd2162 » Sun Jul 13, 2008 11:20 am

Hey!!!! I just moved to winter haven fl from Pensacola and want to start doing some duck hunting. This is going to be my first season, not hunting a private land and need some help on where to go. If anyone has any ideas or needs/wants someone to go hunting with them let me know. Thanks

Boat

Postby srd2162 » Wed Jul 16, 2008 6:44 pm

I just finished painting my boat. What is the best base color to have? Brown, Green, or tan? Where could I post my pictures and you guys could tell me if it is going to suck?

When you post it should give you the option to upload a picture from your computer in the upper left hand portion of the screen right above close tags.

Im originally from Milton florida and started duck hunting last year in polk county. Not a bad season and after some genuine trial and error there are tons of places to hunt within an hour and some are even right around the corner. contact a local fwc agent and ask if hunting is permitted in a lake you are interested in, if it is then get into the scouting grind. It was my first season I had never hunted anything before last season and I managed to find the ducks.

My buddy and I landed these beautiful woodies last season and they are hanging beautifully in his office. I think they were married cause they both had wedding bands on or something ;) Seasons best, and maybe a lifetime best

Had to dig deep to find this one huh?

What do you mean I had to dig deep? Was it hard, frustrating and slow, yes at times but when my little white lab not even 2 years paddled back to the boat with these bad boys it was all worth it. It was still dark and I didn't even notice the bands right away. As long as you have your own gear and no violent criminal history I might be down to try some new spots with you, but none of my honey holes.
