I'm looking to replace the old cane pole and flat pronged gig with a lighter more controllable fiberglass or carbonfiber gig. Y'all got any recommendations?
I made a new one last year with the B&M 55PK head and an expandable pole used for attaching a paint roller. its light and shortens up to about 4 ft and fits in the gun box as well. I prefer it to the bamboo poles i've used in the past.
Im sure somebody will try to use it as a push pole and break it though.
I have the exact pole BB linked. Used it for frogs with a frog gig head as well as bigger fish with a larger gig. Strong and light with the ability to lengthen if needed.
I am gonna end up buying a fiberglass gig by No Mytth Ez Gig. They sell it locally.
