Just keep looking my friend. The birds or here you just got to find them. I've saw pics and talked to people and limits or across the state. keep your eyes in the sky and keep scouting.
This early in the season you will have a lot more success on private land. With all of the rain lately the teal tend to stack up on pasture land instead of large bodies of water. Good luck
Had a good opening day. We camped close to the spot on an island, gigged and got a few black drum and sheepshead, woke up Saturday and got a few. It was fun watching my friends dog work. I also shot my first buffleheads. I hit 3 in one shot which was a first and probably a last for me. Definitely a fun opening weekend,and no mosquitos or sweat.
We found the ringers. Anyone know the species of the lighter colored one. Someone told me it's a Piebald hen Ringneck. It's kind of hard to tell in the picture but it's very light colored with the same ring on the bill. I have never seen one before.
