Looking for a partner for 1/15...

Postby Big Fish » Mon Jan 10, 2011 8:32 am

Gentlemen,
I'm planning on making a trip over to Altamaha WMA this Saturday (1/15) to see if I can get in on a stand-by blind. Would anybody like to join me? I plan on leaving from Fitzgerald Friday night and crashing at the Super 8 for a couple hours. If anyone would like to carpool or meet me over there, let me know here or with a PM.

Have a backup plan incase you dont get pulled in the standby lottery.

Better to bring 12 mallards or a mix of mallards and bluebills?

Claeb,
I hooked up with Ed for Saturdays hunt, we ended up hunting blind 25. Well we did alright if we were only hunting woodies, it seems as though we were in woodie wonderland.... If we could have shot every woodie we seen and hit every one with one shot we would have gone through about 2-1/2 to 3 boxes of shells. We had a few teal and shovelers come in right before legal shooting time, but once the range come to life they were out in the middle of the WMA out of range.

thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming --WOW -- " What a ride!!!

I'm back!
Had a real good time hunting with Chris. Like he said, woodies galore. Not sorry I went. Might try one more "big water" hunt this year...
Thanks again Chris.

Duck07,
if you asked what time it was while out there then yes it was me you were talking to. Not a bad spot but would have liked to have had more then just woodies come in.
