Marsh ?

Postby Islander Gunner » Thu Jul 07, 2011 7:09 pm

I passed thru yalls area a few weeks back heading to Disney. Passed some mighty fine marshes on 95. Do yall hunt those creeks and marshes? Also, what kinds of tides do yall have? Looked like a 4-5 ft tidal difference. I bet those marshes are full of teal, mallards etc. Any way, nice area, reminded me of back home on the salt marshes of the Chesapeake.

tides are very strong here on the coast...you have to watch them or you will be pushing thru the mud,

There is a large WMA around Darien, GA which is just off of 95, which is what I expect you are referring to (between Savannah and Brunswick). There can be some decent shooting there with varying species, but it is ALOT of work pushing gear and boats over mud flats and dikes there--so much so that some people don't think it is worth it. There are some rice fields in that area though.
