Super Retriever Series coming to Huntsville

Postby Labnerd01 » Sat Oct 29, 2011 7:53 am

Any of you Georgia Duck hunters that have duck dogs need to take a little trip over the Huntsville, Al next weekend to view the Super Retriever Series-its the ultimate best of the best event. If you want to find out what the big dogs do, go here and watch.
Several Georgia dog trainers will be competing in this event, Stephen Durrence form Sylvania GA is bringing last years winner, 7XGRHRCH Big Black Dude MH and BOBO another winner and then Jerry Day from Days End Retrievers, Moreland, GA has a couple of his dogs entered as well

This event is not just for dog nerds though, the Alabama state duck calling championship will be held as well as a Ducks Unlimited Banquet. For details click on the link.http://www.dancindogproductions.com/sho ... hp?t=21028 or simply google Super Retriever Series and go to the forum and view it to find out details.

I will be there for a while, am doing a Combo Pheasant and Duck Hunt at a nearby hunting preserve, then doing some scouting for ducks on Lake Guntersville while I am there.

Here is a Roster of competitors and dogs, 92 so far.

Stephen Durrence
Jerry Day
Keith Farmer
Shawn Sims
Bruce Overby

All have dogs entered and all of them are from Georgia. Of interest is Stephen Durrence has won the Huntsville SRS twice with BOBO and then last year with Dude. There is clearly more competition this year, Lyle Steinman being the #1 Pro with the most Wins, two are Crown Championships.

Hey, Hey, Hey, and way to go to Stephen Durrence and his wonder dog "DUDE" for winning the Super Retriever Series for the 2nd year in a row.

Stephen Durrence, Owner/Trainer at Taylor Farm Kennels, Sylvania, GA handled 3 x SRS Winner and 7 x Grand Hunting Retriever Champion Big Black Dude II, also an AKC Master Hunter titled dog to Victory and won $5,000 and the trophy and blue ribbon and invite to the SRS Crown Championship in May of 2013. This Dynamic Duo was Runnerup to the SRS Crown Championship last May.

Great Job and keep at it Stephen
