Our group of 4 is 8 birds shy of 300. Is it possible to find another job in the same area instead of move?
Where we hunt we see lots of Pintails, Mallards, and GW Teal. Umm, we dont!
We get good movement on Ringnecks, Canvasback, and Spoonies. See Above Answer
Question is what kind of opportunities can I expect in the Atlanta area (public land or having to get leases)? Im from south georgia, but recently i was looking at moving to kennesaw and lake altoona is right there, havent really heard good or bad on the hunting on it but its pretty good sized
Will i have to travel far out the metro? Whats far for you??
Is it mostly waders or boat hunting? Scared of gators?
What kind of birds can I expect to see? Mostly wood ducks, and the occasional "big duck"
Final question is do you have gators in the water? Short answer, yes. Long answer, Shine a light at night time and just count eyes!!
Only reason I ask is I have no clue about gators being a Northern boy and don't want my dog to be a snack...ha ha.You should be ok, im careful where i take my dog in early season, once late season gets here i take her everywhere unless im still seeing a bunch of eyes on the way to the blind.
Thanks for the info in advance and if this move does happen I plan to be active on the board and in the duck hunting community so I'll see you around.
