It can be great, but it can be beat. No lines to the ramp, no early starts, no fights over holes, and no sky busting. Private land has many advantages.

I'm sure it is , but for me its all that's available.and i don't like the idea of payin sumbody a ton of money to hunt when we can kill the same amount ourselves.but I understand wut ur sayin. I really was meaning Arkansas timber public or private in my opinion is the best huntin.

I'm interested. I live in Decatur. Have been to Mississippi Delta duck hunting last two years. Year before last had good hunts. Last year hunted same outfit but got skunked. Apparently last year was bad for everyone because mild winter didn't drive ducks south. Heard that from several hunters. Contact me offline at wracehorse@yahoo.com if you want to talk about going to Arkansas this coming season.

I'll be there 3 or 4 times this year, made it 3x last year. Can be some really good hunting at times, but there are definately a lot better places nowadays. When I first started going 17 years ago, It was great and a lot less crowded. Its gone downhill a lot. I go to kansas every year, and will be hunting nebraska this year as well. Believe it or not its actually cheaper to go to kansas than for me to hunt arkie. It typically costs $300 for me and two other guys to hunt arkansas for 5 days. To go to kansas, I generally spend less than $200 a person. Its about 6 hours further drive, but cheaper license and no boat make up for it
