My understanding at the current time there aren't any boat ramps usable to launch a boat with the water level as it is, if someone heard or knows different please post up!!

We did real good with woodies the first weeks. Have one hole that is holding an amazing number of woodies and have seen some teal. Saw one nice group of mallards and a couple odd pairs. The water level just this week has really dropped...if you are thinking about running the river you better know it like the back of your hand.

I've never hunted Westpoint but would still like to hit it before the season ends. Where is good area to go?

1) Don't forget a Corps of Engineers permit for your boat, they been passing out them tickets like candy I heard.

2) Never hunted there, got friends that have been there, go find a boat ramp you can launch from and watch for stumps, it is really low I am told but with the rain from this weekend might be up some. Gonna have to put ya time in scouting I do believe.

west point ducks

Postby quack dealer » Mon Jan 14, 2008 12:54 pm

i hunted this weekend on the wma area and saw a lot of birds before shooting time. mostly woodies but a few big ducks. i did hear a good bit of shooting over the morning but we only killed a lone woodie. this is the type of area that needs to be well scouted and make sure to get out their early to claim a good spot
