Koloa (Hawaiian Duck) Sightings

Postby bcas » Tue Jan 01, 2008 11:22 pm

Thought I would start posting some pictures of any Hawaiian Duck sightings. They typically are in pairs and pretty shy. These two were in my neighborhood's stream. Judging by the colors, I'd say there is a good chance they are pure Koloa however, the pair were out quiet a distance.

Enjoy

pretty cool, how are the numbers on those? And what is the reason for no duck season on the islands? Is it the danger it poses to the endangered species... or is there just no ducks to hunt other then endangered ducks?
