Roll call- who uses this site?

Postby GanderCommander1 » Sat Feb 25, 2006 6:26 pm

My name is John and I have lived in Post Falls for about 20 years. I got back into waterfowl hunting a few years ago when my son, Jake, wanted to start hunting. Already, he is a better shot and a much better caller than I am. We have gotten quite addicted to goose hunting and either hunt out of our 1854 GatorTrax or finisher blinds. We have a wide selection of different decoys from BigFoots, GHG, and Hardcores. Also have a male black lab, Drake, who did quite well his first season. If I can figure out photobucket I will post some pictures.

Hey Justin, for a couple days I thought that I was the only one checking out this forum. Did you stock up on the shotgun shell sales? I bought up the last of the 3 1/2 in. BBs they had in stock. Jake and I are going to the DU dinner next month. Let me know if you will be there.

There are a few N ID people on this board, maybe just not now in the offseason.

I've been in N Idaho since '99 and have hunted just about everywhere except Boundary Creek and Round / Benewah / Chatcollet lakes. I probably hunted more with GC1 and Jake last year as anyone else. I have another couple of guys I go out with regularly.

We hunt primarily from our boats but I discovered the joy of layout hunting last year both in fields (first time) and along river banks and islands.

Can you buy a DU membership at the door? I have been planning on joining, but I've been kind of lazy lately. I do want to go, what day is it on?

Also, there is like 3 times more posts right now than there was during season... I hardly get on lately because of work. Everyone's posting without me, and justin has 487 votes! What's up with that?

casey,

Your admission to the banquet includes a 1 year membership including the magazine, which is quite cool. You can pay at the door but I am sure they would appreciate a call to let them know you are coming. I don't have the number but I am sure GC does.

You can go to www.Ducks.org and go to the "Events" on the left of the screen and go to "find local events" and it will give you a contact for the event.

I recently moved to the Rexburg area. Used to live in Montana. Been duck hunting for about 8 years now and just found out about this site 3 months ago.

yeah i was a mh-53 crewchief down in kirtland for four years... it sucked because we never got tdy's or anything... and to think the only other two bases i could have been sent to were in england and florida... and i got stuck in albuquerque... it was fun while it lasted, but four years was plenty for me... even though i am missing the paycheck of just making staff... now im just doing the whole college thing...
