hagerman area

Postby graphixx » Thu May 11, 2006 5:30 pm

I hunt the hagerman area ALOT salmon falls power project B to be exact. there are a TON of ducks there, its literally 2 miles away from the refuge. and the top of the canyon is filled with cornfields so you get a lot of birds flying. the mornings are good when the birds leave to feed in the fields and a little slow in late morning mid afternoon but around 2 it picks up HEAVY when they are coming off the fields. Very good hunting. easy to get too. but you have to get their early and get your spot!!!

Be careful with all the info, or else you could end up with your spot overrun...

:withstupid: although its pretty sweet that you are sharing the info so other people can slay some ducks too, it kinda sucks getting to your spot only to find a million people there already

For everyone registered and posting on this site there are 20 "lurkers" just harvesting info like what you are posting. I do not believe in giving away spots or even generalized info on an area to perfect strangers. Don't be surprised if your little Shangri-La is overrun next year after you are advertising it so nicely on this board.

I will share info via pm's after I get to know someone.

I know you are excited about your hunt spots...I am excited about mine. My suggestion is that you delete this thread.

Not trying to be a jerk...I've just seen guys lose spots to strangers after posting on the net.

I would not call this a secret spot this is just a good general spot. I have a few "secret" spots that there is NO WAY IN HELL I would tell where they are. That is a bad thing about the Hagerman area it is by no means a SECRET if your not one of the first 5 rigs there in the morning then you are not hunting those spots. There have been times that me and the boys have got to the spot at 3:00 in the morning to pull up to 5 other cars allready there. But if you are one of the lucky ones to get there early enough and get a spot...... WOW the hunting is amazing.

You guys are welcome to hunt one of my favorite spots on the opener. You will have the place to yourselves, no one for miles, and you can set up about 1/2 hour before shoot time. Take the highway for a ways, turn right on the gravel road just past the mile marker, keep going until the road crests over a hill but not the little hill, go past the field that has a couple trees next to it, take a left after the curve in the road and just keep going. I have given these directions to alot of guys and I still end up hunting it alone.

HaydenHunter, I think that I gave you directions to the other spot. The one where you take the highway the other way that leads out of town. I remember taking you to my favorite spot only once. But you got all upset because you said the blindfold was too tight.

Oh yeah, that spot was the one that was three "looks" past the overgrown lot where the Tastee Freez stood before it burnt down.

For those of you wondering what a "look" is, it's an Arkansas term. You drive to a landmark on the road, stop, look down the road as far as you can see, and drive to that point. Three looks is doing this three times.
