Oh Sure.... I see tons of them around October-November and some late in the season. I shot 3-4 this year when things were slow and my buddy got a couple. Certainly good shooting but not so good eating...

Early October

There is 2 four in from the left and 1 on the far right.

Mid November

yeah casey and i saw one up here in n. idaho when i was taking in my birds to the taxidermist... the funny thing was that we were talking about how we've never seen one right before we left, and bam there he was sittin all there by his lonesome in a pond by a mill... we had to make a second pass just to make sure that is what we saw

there are some ruddys around no doubt, took a couple out of the layout this year, but very seldom do we see them in flight, mostly they just swim and dive in front of the boat on the way to/from gunning areas. they eat about the same stuff as cans though, so if you find them in an area its a good bet cans will stop through there at some point in the year, and because of their similar diet to cans they can be pretty tasty in areas.

We have gotten plenty of them over the years. Oops, what was I thinking? Those were only bloody ducks.
