We had a decent opener. 15 birds. Took the neighbor kids hunting and spent the maximum shells per bird but had fun.

Cold snap this morning seemed to shut things down for us, one pigeon and one dove.

Went to the E. Idaho State fair at noon, then gathered with the usual suspects at 5:30 to to hunt Wadsworth Island at the upper, ungated end of the island (BLM).
Good mix of Fan Tails (collared doves), and Morning Doves there.
Had a twenty minute hunt before that huge thunderstorm hit us,
Lab made his very first hunting retrieve on a collared dove minutes before the wind and rain shut us down.
In that respect, it's a hunt I will always remember. And I call it a success!

Be going over again at about 5:30 this evening.
