New to duck hunting

Postby gr8monkeyman » Tue Sep 04, 2012 9:28 pm

hi all,
Never gone duck hunting before, but really getting an itch to do it this year. I am trying to read what I can on the internet on best practices, tips, and such, but still had some questions. I live in Meridian, and I have been scouting around looking for areas to possibly hunt, but all I have is some cameo clothes. Do I need to get a duck blind, or can I just sit and wait in the brush and surprise them as they come in? Is it advisable to carefully walk a shoreline to scout for them? I have some chest fishing waders I can use to get into the river, I am assuming those should be fine. I don't have much except what I have already mentioned, a 12 gauge, and a desire to get some ducks and geese. Any advise would be appreciated as to what I should look to acquire first.

Thanks
