in town quail???

Postby jjohnson_714 » Tue Sep 05, 2006 2:19 pm

so i got home from school today, and noticed a big flock (?) of quail across the street in my neighbors driveway... im talking about like 50 of the little guys... needless to say i was shocked... we never see them hardly here, and then to see them right downtown??? so i ran in to check the regs on them, but season doesnt open until the 16th... too bad because im sure i could have beaned one or two of them with a rock... so i went back out to take a pic of them, and they were all in the trees... (i never even knew quail roosted in trees)... and couldnt get a good shot... so anyways... yeah... just thought that was sort of weird...

ooh i was reading 'da rules' and i couldnt have taken them with a rock anyways... i didnt know that the only game bird you could do that with is a grouse... and i dont think that they would have appreciated me shooting my shotgun in town...

i was just checkin out ya'll's room, you guys are funny. out here in kansas we know a little about quail, it is a covey, and they do not roost in trees, and wild turkeys don't eat them either, but i do. whats the deal with the dude using the f word, that peaked my curiosity. i'm from up around there and miss it, say hi to the mountains for me. good huntin this year guys :salude:
