Having said that, you can't hardly go wrong if you took a protractor and drew a 100 mile radius around boise and picked one. That's basically what we did (75 miles) and couldn't be happier.

If you're thinking Twin Falls, you are within 2hrs either way of it all... except the Pan Handle.
Twin does have it's share of big city problems on a very much smaller scale.
On the other hand, it's pretty close to dead center for bird hunting. Pretty good fishing for about everything the state has to offer except Salmon and steelhead, and it's not all that far to those either.
Can't say about big game, as I gave that up years ago because of legs.
Winters are a touch milder than in the East where I live, but still get a real winter and snow to go with it.
