Whats going on everyone and a big shout out to Donell67 thanks again for the great hunts last year.

Well I moved over to the the Rexburg area last January and have been super busy without that much time to scout. The area that I had all scouted out and was excited about I went into on Sat and it is in the process of drying up they turned the flow of the river way down and I guess this area must have been fed by that. So now I am S.O.L. what areas are good to start scouting out I know its getting a little late but not much I can do about that... I have heard that Mud Lake is popular etc but are there some areas that are a little closer other than the river to a guy who lives in Rigby?

Not asking for any honey holes or anything just a friendly point in a direction that I wont be wasting my time in.

Thanks :salude:

I live in St. Anthony. There are a variety of public hunting areas nearby...mud lake, market lake, camas refuge (some areas open to hunting), sand creek wildlife management area, chester wetlands, snake and teton rivers.

I'm new to the area too. I've got a few spots picked out, but I don't make a habit of sharing specifics over the internet (sorry, been burned way too many times  ).

You'll find birds though if you look around a bit. I haven't experienced an opener here, but generally I like to find spots that are isolated and therefore don't get hammered.

Good luck

Thats what I hear too. I was not up there on the opener in fact I have not even ever been there we just hunted the river and had a good shoot. It would have been a lot better if there was not two young kids morons who set up 100 yards from us with there three goose decoys and there kazoos shooting at the ducks decoying into our spread ... when they were still 300 yards in the air. I finaly went over and told them off but it did no good. ...... . got to love the red necks but all in all it was a blast and we knocked a few out of the sky... can't wait for all the small ponds to freeze the river should get a bit more exciting then
