Island Park, ID Duck Hunting

Postby spencershaffer » Mon Oct 16, 2006 9:40 pm

I am new to the Island Park area and need some general ideas of where to hunt waterfowl. If you know of any good guides in the IP area, that would be helpful as well.

Guiding for waterfowl is not legal in ID (thank God). But there are a couple grandfathered in guide services.

Find the water, find the birds  Scout and yee shall succeed  Be prepared for some COLD duck hunting. Don't know where you're from, but this is waterfowling at its coldest, no doubt about it. Few places in America is more waterfowling done in the snow and cold. i.e. invest in some snow camo

be careful of land that is off-limits to hunting (the Harriman State Park).

As you can see, I don't give details since I've been burned more times than you can imagine.

good luck.
