Jerky

Postby LEOJR73 » Thu Nov 14, 2013 2:04 pm

Made a different kind of jerky this time. I ground the jerky first and then used a jerky gun. Only took 2 hours in oven at 180 degrees. Best I've ever madeImageImageImage

looks delicious! I love me some duck/goose jerky. Back in August I took all the leftover birds from last season and jerked them up. Filled 4 gallon size ziplocs. Down to just 1/2 a bag, dang kids!

Looks great! I just made some last night too. Never tried the jerky gun method. Might have to now tough!

Drakz...

Don't dehydrate it as long as duck/goose, it dries out super fast.

I second the High Mountain Jerky Cure. I use the Cracked Pepper and Garlic and everyone that tries it likes it. I also slice my jerky strips thick. I don't like shoe-leather thin chewy jerky.
