Double banded drake this am

Postby Dirtnapmaker » Fri Jan 17, 2014 8:45 pm

Setup on cda lk this am and first duck of the day was a double banded drake with a $100 reward band! Puts me at 3 (4counting reward) Awesome ending to the year!
It's not easy getting up, before the sun thinks of rising, doing hours of work in miserable conditions. But it's all worth it when the birds are cupped feet down in the deeks!!!!

Thanks! Out of my 10 year waterfowl career I had heard about the elusive double band, but figured hunting north idaho it was only something I would hear about never experience in person! I was as gitty as a school on her first date lol! Super ending to the season!

Very nice. I have only seen one of those before. Pretty special. You going to mount it?

Nah if I mount a duck it will be a wood duck, pintail, or one of those red head drakes. Maybe someday I'll get one mounted but I have lots of season to go in my waterfowl career, so for now ill keep spending money on more decoys, shells, and other waterfowl accessories lol

Me and my buddies also took a double banded , reward greenhead this year in the same area. It puts a big smile on your face that's for sure. Mine was from Alberta. What about yours?
