Boise area taxidermist

Postby morty » Sun Jan 19, 2014 8:16 pm

Could anybody personally recommend a good taxidermist somewhere in the Boise area? I checked some web sites but it looks like most places aren't very tech savvy, not a lot of good examples. I'm looking for the best bang for my buck, yet quality enough so the wife will let me get a few more in the future. Thanks and I hope everybody's wackin em'

North,

I can't recommend any in the Boise area but Birdman Studios (who is also a sponsor of this site) has done right by us in several cases. And we are preparing to send a few more to them.

Just a thought.

X10 on Birdman out of Colorado. Troy Rose did a lot of nice birds for me, but he's not doing birds for new clients now. Call Todd Huffman at Birdman. He is outstanding! Look at the mounts on his web site and you will see. I've sent him 3 so far, and more on the way. Here's a Barrows Goldeneye he did for my son. It really pays to go with the best guy you can find, especially on birds.......

If you want to stay in the Boise area Imperial Taxidermy in Caldwell is an option. They've done a few things for me in the past and I've been happy with them.

I am not in the Boise area, but I've found that a better option is sending your bird to a world class taxidermist. It is actually most od the time the same cost as local but you get a better product in the end. Lets face it, subpar birds just look bad.

I use Troy Rose out of Kooskia, ID. He is the best around for birds. His shop is called Artistic Taxidermy.

Imperial taxidermy hands down. I have three birds done by them and they are outstanding. Very professional and they have several blue ribbon birds

I posted a pic of the Birdman's Handi-work on another thread. As you might imagine, he doesn't have this one posted on his website but it is a true testament to his ability to do what the client wants/describes.

Here's a great Snow recently done by Troy Rose for my son. His work is absolutely outstanding, inventive poses too. You will have to contact him and see if he's taking birds from new clients though......

This beautiful Gadwall was done by Todd Huffman at Birdman. We have been vey impressed with his work. Todd doesn't even charge you until you see the photo of the finished bird and agree that you like it!
