Non-res archery deer permits

Postby MaineHunter » Fri Jun 22, 2012 10:51 pm

Can anyone tell me how to apply for a non res. archery deer tag/tags.. I see that it's a lottery, do normally all of the tags go in the lottery or is there always leftovers? Can anyone give some help..? Thanks!

Here you go sir! Below is the link to the IL DNR site where you will begin the permit application process:

I am not 100% sure but last time I checked into NON RES Archery you could still buy over the counter as well. May check into that option also !

From what i have read, you can in fact buy them over the counter, but only after they have done the lottery and there is extras.

The guy we are doing a swap hit with has sent us picture the last few years (this has been in planning for awhile now!) and wow the bucks he says they don't shoot (140 class) we drool over!!! Going to be a great experience for sure! We get good deer around here but not nearly in the numbers you guys have.

I'm contemplating also bringing my shotgun and picking up the necessary license requirements for some ducks/geese depending on what the season is out there.. But I also have no clue of the area either..

What area are you looking at.I might be able to point in a good direction for bow hunting.I've bow hunted there for 15 years. But with 3 kids I don't have the extra money for the non-res.bow tag.
