I will be hunting banner with a group of guys for the first time ever on the 24th of this month. I have been told that some of the blind locations if not most of them are incorrect on the map from the DNR website. I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea as to which one's have been moved. I will be going out the day before (well after hunting ends for the day) to find some of them and get a general idea of how long of a walk they are and so that I know where I am going on the morning of the hunt. I do know where the two only accessible by boat are and two near the east point access since that is primarily where I fish. Any tips as to where some of the other blinds are located are much appreciated. Thank you.

15 is now back by the levee just down from 26 and faces east, 6 is now between 7 & 13 and faces n/nw. All other blinds are still in the same locations as soon on map.

Hunted banner yesterday the 24th. We didn't kill anything and only got a shot at once goose. We saw about 4 dozen mallards and 2 dozen Canada's throughout the day. We had a group of 4 and a group of 3 blue bills buzz by the decoys 10 minutes before shooting time, and had a group of 4 Goldeneye buzz really quick over head from behind and were out of range before we could even get a shot off. From what I heard it was a pretty slow day for most blinds.

It has been slow everywhere all season in the area except for a select few blinds but then again they are not at Banner.

I had never hunted there before so it was nice to get to know where all the blinds work and how the draw and everything else works. Since I have 3 more permits for the end of the season. A few blinds seemed to be doing a lot of shooting, but I'm not sure how many birds were taken. I only talked to 4 other groups that were out and each of them had only shot 1 bird. I also did not realize just how long of a walk 23 was, I'd heard it was long but wasn't expecting that.

Yes, there are a couple of blinds that are "out there a ways". 23 is certainly one of them. I had a couple of hunting partners out there Fri and Sunday. They missed a couple of birds, but shooting was pretty slow. I guess I will have to show them how it's done this weekend.

Yes it is. We had two pairs of mallards coming start for us low shortly after shooting time but were scared of by a large swarm of black birds. Even with the long walk though I liked the blind placement and the amount of open water in front of the blind. Although the boat seemed to have a slight leek because after we put the decoys out we had about an inch or so of water in the bottom of the boat.

Lots of blackbirds there again this year for sure. Too bad they aren't ducks.

DNR has to do some work there. Blind 21 sinks on the right side so you are
Standing in water. Blind 5 one of the oars is missing a pin for the oar lock

Low water is a real problem there and elsewhere this year. Tough hunting.

Gotta agree there. lots of black birds and seagulls. I just hope banner hasn't froze before I get back from school. I'd like to use my last 3 permits and get 3 straight days of duck hunting in.

Don't worry about us shooting them....we've seen maybe 20 ducks all morning. Blind 21 is all ice we had to break thru atleast 1/4 inch. Don't know if the left last night or just haven't flew yet....

yeah we had ice at Blind 23 on Saturday. I know a lot of places are still holding ducks up here in Wisconsin. Hopefully, they get pushed south before the end of the season.

That's great. I'm likely done with Banner this year, but my hunting partner will likely be there this week(end). We had a tough year with only 6 ducks from Banner. We usually do a hell of a lot better. Couldn't shoot worth a crap this year for some reason.

Will likely shoot down state still, so stay tuned!

How bout some pictures?! Here's a goose we shot last week. We call him Goosezilla!
