Excitement?

Postby DBrooke » Sat Oct 27, 2012 4:03 am

Maybe last years crappy season ruined me for this year, but I just don't feel as excited as usual. Anyone else having this problem? Hell it's 1.5 hours till opener and I'm still getting my clothes on :lol3:

I dunno. For me it was excitement. Unlike you I'm a virgin to Mazonia warerfowl. I sure enjoyed it today. Good friends and this year brings my friend's fifteen year old boy and my wife out as rookies. Quite the show at legal time, but just single passes and nothing shootable. We missed a single goose that wasn't something to talk about. Damn bird.

A LOT of map readers standing at the board. Good luck tomorrow. I think there were more boats than birds today.

My opener was pretty crazy. I hunted a hole in Hancock County, IL a couple miles from the river and saw hundreds of mallards and other ducks, couldn't hardly hit a duck to save my life as mallards just kept piling into the hole. Managed to scratch out a drake woodie but even if I would've hit half my ducks I would've limited out on mallards and woodies.

Birds are everywhere in Chicago. I was there yesterday. That's the place to be.

I didn't see anything either this morning... saw a lot last night late but i think this full moon is ruining a lot of things so I think it should get progressively better.

You were in Mazonia yesterday? That would've been one extreme to the other.
