Postby BPSgrizzly » Wed Jan 30, 2013 12:59 am

i commute to SIUE two days a week and on one side of the highway before new poag road theres about 1000 canadas in a field for the last two months and then closer to new poag road on 255 there is a pond on the other side that has decoys and a small blind. what im trying to get at is does anyone know that person, have there ever really killed waterfowl there?

I've wondered the same thing about that little blind. I seen 2000-3000 birds in that green field there by the warehouses a week ago.

Interesting fun fact, In 1985 Cujo laid AT&T fiberoptic phone cable through that area. We bored right under 255. Haven't heard "Poag" road in all of these years!

Most of those birds go straight to Cougar Lake or campus. A week ago there were 1000+ geese and 500+ mallards on Cougar Lake sitting on a small patch of open water. It has been very tough getting any permission around the area. The area you are talking about does well early in the season. Also most of the birds show up after the season closes unfortunately.
