What's Happening??

Postby jscheirer » Tue May 21, 2013 4:17 pm

I went into our local Big R the other day looking for some shotgun shells. I only wanted to pick up one box of target loads for shooting clays with some buddies. I ask for help and the man at the counter asks how old I am, "20 years old sir". He tells me it is their policy to NOT sell ammunition to anyone under 21....

How can I legally buy a gun and this store doesn't allow me to buy ammo for that legally bought gun. I was appalled when he told me this and I stormed out of the store. Just thought about telling people how good Big R is to their past customers.

Iv ben told that at Walmart too, a few years back
and so i told them ill just go to farm and fleet and buy ammunition. And the guy at Walmart told me f&f was breaking the law selling me shotgun shells.

The law is 18 for long gun ammo but is 21 for pistol ammo. There are loop holes for everything but unfortunately it is a lot of store policy to error on the safe side. Walmart sucks but that is just my opinion. Our local Rural King is good on ammo sales but I'm starting to see a lot of the little stores be over cautious .

Our Farm & Home Supply store has always had a lot of hunting and ammo stuff but of course got wiped out by the whackos preparing for the end of guns then once the ammo was all gone they put in a 3 boxes per visit rule but the problem is these crazy old guy ammo hoarders would make 12 trips to the store and buy hundreds of dollars of ammo everyday so eventually no one could get ammo and right now all they really got is just shotgun stuff.

I agree about Walmart, but I consider Big R and Rural King to be basically the same store...I would think that they would mirror each other on policy.

Sucks either way. I would like to think that this should fall into some sort of discrimination suit.
