Horseshoe lottery

Postby jwurts4 » Tue Oct 01, 2013 1:09 pm

We won lottery for horsehoe jan 5th and jan 18th. Anyone know much about this area? When i do a search, most of the posts are very old and outdated. THe DNR website says i need a $10 permit. Check in and deliverd to blind by a truck? What kind of gear limitations do you have? Can we use our boat blind or do we have to hunt from a stake? Any info is helpful. Thanks

3doz max decoys. no bigfoot decoys. hipboots will work at most holes but highly recomend chest waders. You draw for permant blinds and walk to them.

It'sabout a 2hr commute for me. SSounds like it can be hot? One of my dates is last weekend of duck and the other is goose. I assume people have decent luck with geese as well being so close to the Mississippi? Going to have to be a real easy morning........ Or maybe we just go to Washington Park until the lottery!

oh wow........guess i should have looked closer. Glad you pointed it out. I just went to stl this weekend and creeped by what i thought was the place i won a blind for. Saw several blinds on the other horseshoe lake! Oh well, just glad to be able to hunt somewhere different. Going to have to leave real early, or stay in truck until lotto. looks like their campground is closed. Anyone have any other tips. lots of views but no replies.
