Due to the shutdown , will they flood oakwood bottoms this year?
I know its part DU part Fed so I dont know, If anyone has any answer thank you

Being a federal area, it's most likely shut down at present. I'd call the main ranger station...that would be your best bet to contact someone during the shutdown. When I was running around down in that area, 40 years ago, Harrisburg was the main office, but that could have changed by now.
With the Forest Service, wildlife is always a secondary issue, after timber. With a skeleton crew at best during the shutdown, I seriously doubt that they would expend much money or effort at Oakwood until the shutdown is resolved.

Crab Orchard NWR is closed.

No it's not more open. They are writing tickets to those who are ignoring the signs and they are towing vehicles.

Typical freaking Government Operation. They are spending more to close / try to keep it closed than it costs to just keep it open.

You guys see on the news the mulit million dollar revamp their doing to oakwood and I believe cache over the next few years starting next year. I usually hunt from a boat but I may have to venture out and try oakwood in the years to come. They were talking about restoring around 2000 acres.
