What freeze? We aren't freezing anytime soon. New ducks are coming daily, but not in great numbers yet. It will be a few weeks. Limits are being shot near and on Horicon daily.

No hard freeze in the forecast quite yet. I think for the next couple weeks it will be mostly local movement. Just hold steady and before you know it the skies will be packed!

Don't know about a big push be we just had a bunch of gadwalls move in. We saw about 1000 ducks in the sky between 7 and 8 compared to only seeing 50-100 3 days ago. Shot 2 gadwalls and 1 redhead today.

We saw thousands push this morning, they were probably mostly gadwalls. We worked tons of gadwalls and managed to get one group to actually light into the decoys and we shot 3 out of that group, a few teal and a hooded merganser for each of us. This was the first time I've seen gadwalls in my life and I was hunting an old farm pond 5 miles off the river. Who would have thought? :lol3 Saw pretty much every kind of duck today except mallards which based on the numbers we saw flying high I can't complain about that. Had one group of widgeon work our spread for a few minutes that we pulled down out of the clouds. They heard the call and just immediately cupped up and descented down to around our decoys but we never got them to commit fully so we didn't shoot.

Yeah they were responding great to the call just failed to finish for us numerous times. Currently we have about a 20 yard pocket in the decoys but will be opening it to 30-35 in the morning hoping that will solve the finishing issue. And we will have a more complimentary wind for our blind tomorrow.

Luie, try to get a 10 point Buck decoy to get birds to finish.

Quack, nice bag.

Weekend is serving well with one day left. Shot limit yesterday on Mallards, today settled for 2 BWT and a Mallard with a damn solo Canada landing 60 yards short. Idiot. Should have shot limit on Mallards tonight too. I left the deer decoy home tonight and birds worked. First flock thought they would swing again but didn't. Next flock I got busted by high flyers fully committed droppin like rockets. Final flock fully committed and called it, but horrible shooting and major frustration on my part. See what tomorrow brings. Birds moved early this evening with the gusty NW winds. First flock started at 3:30. Geese are starting to stack between 88/80. Witnessed 2K drop in a quarter mile of one of my fields tonight!

What are you guys seeing as far as birds before legal shooting time? I'm trying to see how I want to play daylight savings next weekend as I may only be able to hunt one day sat it sun. I want to try and see it the one hour rollback will help or not really.

The ducks don't have watches so it shouldn't affect anything. Luckily so far I haven't seen really any ducks before LST so everything I've had in my decoys I've gotten to shoot. I hate when ducks land in the decoys before LST!

I know what you mean. I was burned last season. Had about 500 ducks in total fly over in range up to about 10 minutes before LST. Saw and heard nothing the rest of the day.

I left before the week break. Contacts I have are doing exceptionally well. Waupun area, on Horicon and Southwest of Fond du Lac. All three are on pace for record seasons.

Well, I guess your 12 pointer worked well for you today. My 10 pointer did squat for confidence today. Can I borrow your 12?

Did well. Plagued by shooting behind birds all day resulted in one Mallard. That day hurt. Others days were very productive.
