Roll Top Pits

I am used to duck hunting from a regular above ground blind, but the past couple of seasons, we have had a pit with a roll top. The predicament that we face is that when we have the top closed the caller can not see the working ducks. However, if we leave it open, then all of the ducks that fly over can see everyone and everything in the pit. We have tried brushing more around the blind to break up our silhouettes, but if we put too much brush on our blind, it becomes too obvious to the ducks. How do you guys hunt roll top pits in a way that the ducks can be seen, without the ducks seeing you?

2"x4" wire cover brushed so you can easily see out, but the birds can't easily see in. Everybody can watch and know what's going on, as long as no one's moving around much.
If you think I'm wrong, you might be right.
