We have tried a few different things. Started with pressure treated plywood with grass stapled to it. It was nice put alittle heavy. Next, we tried pressure treated lattice with a lightweight frame built around it with hinges on it and grass attached to it. Worked pretty good but the following year we added a heavy burlap on the inside and it kept most of the heat in and the moisture out. All in all that was pretty light and worked pretty good. Put a hook and latch in the middle of the door that will fold down but leave about 2 inches below the roof to look out. We have one end that is just a panel so the person calling can move it around while calling. We have tried the doors folding out and doors folding in and general discussion is to fold in. That way, if you are careful, the birds will not see the doors dropping but they would see the doors swinging out. Hope this helps.
