For those who enjoy duck hunting in the fields, this is the place.
What I need help with is my decoy spread for the next few weeks. I've never put out duck decoys this early but since I bought a few dozen more I figured I'd throw em out. What I'm not sure on is whether or not putting the drake decoys will hurt or help me. Being that I've only seen a few drakes that are even close to being in full plumage I would think full plumage decoys may scare them off? Or is it not that big of a deal? Any help for a long time lurker now turned member would be appreciated!

It doesnt matter. Early ducks are stupid, they will land with anything that looks like a duck.
Why do I shoot 3.5" for geese? Because they don't make a 4" yet!

I like less color and a lot of space between decoys and family groupings too...but local ducks are not that particular really and that is what you are seeing early in the season.
