freak over ducks, I would take a good look at the Finisher. I know some people that like the Cabela's, but the Finisher blind has stood up better for me. One of the best on the market IMHO and I don't think you can go wrong with it

Hope you have a great Christmas!!

Finisher by far. Cabela's makes a great product, don't get me wrong, but the frame is modeled from the FA blinds. Pain to set up! Uses pins and some assembly is required. With the Finisher, you pull it out of the box and take it hunting. No pins and is all pre-assembled. Not to mention the canvas and floor is the thickest and most durable that you will find.

I bought an FA Eliminator. Was not crazy how it set up to begin with. Took it out the first time and canvas started stretching and getting "runs" in it, plus a few Cables broke. Took it back, went home, did some research and came down to either the Finisher or Northern flight. Watched a YouTube video on each. Saw the Northern Flight was almost identical to the FA Eliminator. Wasn't going down that road again

There is a reason the Finisher is the #1 selling in the world...

Don't you mean...Take it out of the box, set it up to make sure Avery didn't send you a defective blind (Avery CS sucks), then MUD the blind or mist it with some ultra-flat krylon to knock down the shine? I hunted the same farm once where a group of 5 guys set up at the downwind end of a corn field. There were 5 of us too. Our blinds were mudded and/or paint misted and stubbled very well. You cold see the sun shiing off these idiots un-mudded blinds from 500 yards away. The only shooting they got that day was when they took some 100+ yards shots at birds that were high tailing it out of the fields after we put it to em. When we were done they came over and asked what the heck we were doing differently. The "gy in charge" of their set up said he'd been hunting for 40 years and never saw guys hammer on birds like we did that day and even tried to insinuate we were doing something less than legal to put 40 birds on the ground in less than 35 minutes. I gently put him in his place and turned him around to show him where his blinds were sitting...glowing in the sun like big shiny blobs. I then turned him back around and showed him our blinds...he had a hard time making them out. The moral of the story?...mud your blinds to knock down the shine and stubble well and when you think you're good enough, take another look.

I was comparing the cabelas ultimate to the Rogers goosebuster. I like the water proof floors. Any thoughts?

Yes.... They keep water out but also in. Think about how and where you are going to utilize it the most, then stay out of the rain :grooving:

the Cabela's is an awesome blind they hide well, pack up nice, easy to haul in a truck, nice feature like flag port, pocket ETC, and they are comforable. I have 3 hunting buddies that Have them and I have one as well and I have hunted from a few other blinds (HS hitman (sucks), Rogers LP and toughman, redhead (horrid), and an avery powerhunter) and the Cabela's is still my favorite! it may take a second or 2 more to put pins in but it stays up and they are easy to get the pins in, 4 pins for the doors and 2 for the head rest frame.

Cableas Ultimate all the way, best layout blind I've ever owned. Plus I got in mossy oak which is a big plus for me b/c I don't do realtree, personal preference.

If you haven't ordered one yet take a look at tanglefree. I got a dead zone late this season and have been very pleased with it.

Id get a finisher. They might have stopped making them because Fred Zink designed them when he was Averys biggest staffer. But now as everyone knows he left. Id doubt Avery would stop making them considering their one of the best selling blinds out there. The Ground Force is really good too. My bro has one and I like it more but ots alot tighter. I never mudded mine up and we never had a problem finishing geese. Probably should but other stuff I gotta do. All these guys rip on Avery but they make a good product.

I was doing some digging on the Finisher cause my buddy is looking to get one. I didn't find anything saying they stopped making, however I do see on Gander Mountain website they are backordered but expected to arrive 1/22/13. That doesn't guarantee anything but I'm glad to hear it!
For the price I would stay away from the Ground Force. Not all that much cheaper but it is 6" narrower... Like he said, it is tight! Basically a mini version of the Finisher.

Buddy had the cabelas and it was a pain because of how it folded up and the pin system on it. He took it back and got a finisher. The cabelas is a total pain if ur running a trailer. I have a finisher and all my buddies have them they are fast and simple.

Cabela's hands down.
I bought one a couple years back, and it does great. Mine has the pins in it. Some of my buddies picked up new ones last year...the Cabela's ones now has clip frame instead of the pins and can be set up in less than 3 minutes. They make an excellent product and have great customer service.

i love my finisher. iv hunted out of cabelas northern flights, power hunters, and rogers goosebusters and still come back to my finisher. i am picking up a FA X-LANDER this summer and using it for early goose. will see how i like that, but no matter what my finisher will always be with me. finishers are easy to set up, fold up nice, are very comfortable, and don't stand up out of the corn stubble like some blinds.
all finisher hunts. i own 4 finishers and a power hunter.

how is it a pain? it folds up easy and shouldnt be a single problem with a trailer... we even lay them flat in the trucks and stack decoys on top. barely know its there.

Another for the Avery Finisher here! Love it and the height is adjustable. I'm 6'1" 195 and it's a perfect fit for me. One of my hunting partners hunts out of the Cabela's Ultimate, and on cold mornings he struggles with the pins, the Finisher is unfolded and ready to go in 60 seconds.
