plastic tarp

Hey guys, my uncle said that back then when water was low, they would go to a field and lay down a piece of clear plastic tarp and put decoys on it. They said it was pretty effective? You guys know anything about this?

I have heard of that before, but I remember it being black plastic. I think it may have been discussed on hear before.

Have heard about this a lot on frozen ponds/lakes too. The tarp imitates a whole in the ice. and the ducks and geese will pull to the open water.
