Vortex in the field ?

Postby John O`Neal » Sun Nov 25, 2007 12:14 pm

Have any of you guys out there tried the Vortex for field hunting ? I have a home made one that works great as an attractor over water and was just wondering how effective it might be in the field.

I have used a vortex in field and water situations. I personally think the vortex is a piece of crap. me and hunting buddies had one and they dont work at all like people say. they scared the ducks more in the field than they attracted. if ya want to get em in the field use a couple robo ducks. place them in low amonst the decys so that theyre hidden at different angles to passing birds. we usually set them on the ground and put deeks around them. then as birds circle they see it then dont and looks different each time they can see it. we went to cabelas to get our money back for the vortex and the store we were at told us they had 800 on backorder . i cant believe everyones buying into them. just my 2 cents. good luck.
