Help a rookie with a set up

Postby feather duster » Thu Nov 29, 2007 7:49 pm

I am very new to waterfowl hunting. My wife's cousin has a farm that has a couple of ponds, one is surrounded by winter wheat. He is regularly seeing geese and ducks. I went up there this afternoon and seen several geese.

My problem is that both ponds are in the middle of fields and are very bare around them, no cover. There is some dried, dead grass from the waters' edge to about 8' out. My son and I, as well as one friend have layout blinds that I think I can put in the dead grass. The blinds have been mudded and we can weave some grass in the stubble straps.

I have some buddies that want to hunt with us but they don't have any layout blinds.

How can we cover the guys that have no layout blinds.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
