MALLARDS IN ALFALFA

Postby chris56288 » Fri Oct 03, 2008 2:54 pm

I am going out goose hunt in an alfalfa field on Sunday and I know there iare geese in there. I have seen mallards flying over but not land in it. Has anyone had success shooting both species in an alfalfa field?

I have hunted alot of alfelfa and short pastures and have never had a duck land. fly over all the time but never land I even try calling them in and they keep flying.

Yes, if it's the field they intend to use, they'll use it unless something is amiss.

But they do land in it..... to rest, spooked, lost, confused or wander to another field, have no idea why but have taken many trying to land in it.
