two should be good, i mean i;ve seen guys out there that put out like 4 or 5 of them. also i've always been told that you want to put the mojos where you want the ducks to land

I've seen guys just use 4-5 mojos when field hunting for ducks. No other dekes. I think they did all right too. Personally I won't do it, but who knows?

If the birds are never hunted, one or two should be good. If they are hunted a lot by multiple parties, we'll put out 6. Put the mojos where you want to shoot basically. Birds will try to land on top of them.

we use 16 mojos at our pit in western kentucky. we're pulling birds off everyone and our hole has been froze up with 4 dozen battleship magnums froze in it. I just purchased 8 more and plan on having 16 to myself for next year. they work great at PSP in a snow goose rag spread also. I've had great success with Texas rags and mojos on killing mallards

Depends. We have up to four available (soon to be six) and it just flat depends on what the ducks do. Some days, we have the mojos out and the ducks drop in like flies. Other days, usually overcast days, the mojos seem to flare them so we take them up. A couple of days ago, two was too many, but one worked great. The one thing I've learned is this: If it ain't working, try something different.
2014 Season Totals:
Mallards: 243
Redheads: 114
Woodducks: 119
Grebes: 36
Blue Geese: 134
Snow Geese: 178
Hawks: 4

me and a friend have 8 between the 2 of us, unless we are hunting a field we only run 1 that has a remote because over water sometimes they just dont like them, in the field you can never have enough of them. Put them where you want them to land.

We use 3-4 during teal season along with our spread. They practically fly right into them. Will use them early in the season but as the season goes on they have seen so many mojos they get smart and educated. We dont bother with them later into the season.

when mojos came out they were great, brought the ducks right in all the time. But as of now i only use mojos for doves and teal, as for ducks, i dont use mojos, i use a product called a wind whacker. there are 2 blades on it and they move in the wind and they are just great. but with no wind or on cloudy days(unless its raining/snowing) i dont use anything. the ducks where i am are WAY to smart for mojos but i dont know of anyone around where i hunt that has one and its something new and i have always had luck with wind whackers. expectially in dry fields they are exceptionally great. while goose hunting, i put them right next to the blind incase i get a group of geese to come because geese want nothing to do with them.

I use three types. splashers, regular, and intermittant. We attach heavy grass cutter string to the bottoms of the wings to splash the water on the intermittant and it makes the water move. Total 4, and we never seem to flair ducks or geese because we use them. We also place them close to land or shallow water to mimick feeding/resting birds. (Mostly due to it is the opposite everyone else does.)

I would just do trial and error (sounds stupid but really). If you think the birds are flaring, take em down. But honestly, I don't think 2 will ever hurt you. For a real circus, check out the vortex systems.

I do a ton on field hunting & swear by having them in the field. I never really hunt with more than 3 to 4 other guys in a field but if I did with 4 to 5+ I would use probably 3 to 4. I will but the full body geese in & around the blinds as well as well behind us almost in a line. Then I will put the mallard full body decoys in a U shape with the mojo's on the inside of the U as they do in fact always want to land on the spinners. Have them 10-20 yards out from your lay-out or even in between the blinds so you can turn them off for geese if they aren't remote control operated as geese HATE THEM. bottom line, 2 is fine with 4 guys, 6 guys maybe 1 more so you can spread out their focal landing zone point.

happy hunting.

btw - 16 mojo's is ridiculous, colossal waste of money in my opinion but to each his own. at the end of the day it is all about being on the X

we usually use as many as we can. the most I have used was 18 but usually use around 9-10. The more mojo's you have on a sunny day the better. We usually place the mojo's directly in front of the decoys but if that don't work and the birds want to land behind the mojo's we will move the mojos back behind the decoys a couple feet so they can land between the decoys and mojo's or where we really want to land them which is in front of the decoys.
