Crows in the feild spread

Any drawbacks to adding crow decoys to a mallard and/or goose feild spread? If anyone does this, where in the spread do you put the crow decoys? Thanks.

:withstupid: Great way to work out some frustration in the early goose season if your having a bad shooting day. Kill the nest thieves any time it's possible.

I use crow dekes from time to time - depends on if there are crows using the filed or not - I pretty much group them off to a side about 60 - 70 feet or so - if you have crows around they can be fun to shoot and are a test/challenge, but not worthy of steel shot so we do not take pot shots....too bad we cannot carry a handfull of 8 lead into the goose fields!!!

BBB at seventy yards -you'd be pretty fortunate or lucky to hit them consistently at 210 feet with shot that large or any shot for that matter. I think number 8or 7 1/2 shot at 40 to 50 yards and under has been the way to go for a long time or # 9 at 30 yards and under- that is if you want to kill lots of crows. And who doesn't ?(he he)Crows only weigh a pound and require dense patterns to kill cleanly and consistently.

I think this guy needs to start CHC (Crow Hunting Chat), he seems to know an awful lot about the topic. :lol3:
