If this is a legitimate post which I really hope it isn't, it seems very unsportsman like in my opinion. Maybe its just because we do it a whole lot different, but I would never do it like that.

There's a reason the use live decoys and night hunting were outlawed in the U.S. and most countries in the world — it's unsportsman-like!
It makes me wonder what would happen one night, if more ducks than hunters show up? Do you surrender to them like the French did in WWII? :moon:

I found this website.......take it however you want. The one thing I can say is this; if these birds have lived through centuries upon centuries of this type of decoying, then there is no way I'm gonna ever think my spread looked good!!

And yeah, they can't help it, they're french  :fingerhead:

was hoping someone would bring that up lol, :clapping:. According to the French version of duckhuntingchat.com which is Gourmetfly.com, French duck hunting is the exact opposite of my hunting, they wear baret's, drink wine, and smoke winstons, while I wear basball hats, drink Bud light, and smoke marborlo lights. Proud to be an American.

If you call shooting them at night with a scope hunting... I'm going to get sick. Live decoys isn't new, my grandpa used them in South Dakota. You clip their wings so they can't fly and tie a weight to their leg like regular decoys only they do the calling. You keep them in a pen when you aren't using them. Weird huh? Illegal in the USA. In the 50's it was ok but not any more.
I guess you don't need camo at night. LOL

I saw this one time on one of Chris Batha's shows.

They raise and release mallards in France, and I believe other places in continental Europe.
They are not so much concerned with extinction of the species, because they are essentially all released birds at this point.
Furthermore, live decoys are perfectly legal.
The ones on the show had a leather strap holding them to a floating board.

It looks real interesting, but my impression is that unless you are particularly wealthy, you are never going to experience it.
