pit blind covers ? any ideas?

Postby tulestomper » Sat Aug 08, 2009 4:18 pm

hey all, Relatively new to hunting pit blinds and the one we leased has little to no cover on the check. its a rice field and in years past we have used cut grass skirts in a perimeter about a foot and a half off the ground. this blended ok when we had cover on the check but this year the check is bare and muddy. was kinda hoping someone has an idea or blue print on how to construct something that is flush or close to the ground that can cover a 4-man pit? possibly a flip top or shield of some sort? i checked out the gibson covers they stick up a couple of feet and cost around 200$, not exactly what i had in mind. any ideas or thoughts PM or post please!!!!!! -thanks Mike

You need a roll top, common in Arkansas pit blinds. Use 3/4 angle iron for runners, construct frame for top out of aluminum, cover in wire, brush, or use 1/8 plywood paint. top sits on rollers which track on angle iron
