South zone & Mo. Valley zone Early Season Article

Postby feathhd » Sun Apr 14, 2013 8:36 am

Mo. Valley Waterfowlers Association president William Smith is seeking
duck hunter input about potentially changing the 5 day Early season
structure of the South Zone & Mo. River zone to 2 days ( Sat & Sunday )
why taking the last 3 days of the early season and applying it to the
2nd segment of the duck season at the end of the season. The reason for
the question / potential change is that by taking the last 3 days of
the early season and applying it to the end, it would end the regular
duck season on a Weekend, giving duck hunters an Added weekend of
Opportunity, instead of the season closing in the middle of the week
when most are working. This potential change would give duck hunters
who work during the week that last opportunity to get out and hunt
ducks on the most typical days of the week that most have OFF. (
Saturday & Sundays )

The subject will be brought up on the May 23rd comment period Dead line.
Smith asks Iowa duck hunters to send their comments / opinions to him at
