Waterfowlers of Iowa please send in your comments in Support of the project. That means if all you do is type, I support it, it is good to go. Make sure you list yourself as a Iowa Waterfowl Hunter. On the surface that doesn't really mean anything but later on based on our abilities as a whole a core group, it may lead us to greater opportunities and build stronger working partnerships down the road. Please pass this info along to other waterfowlers who are very Supportive of Wetland Habitat Restoration in Iowa.

Thanks
Bill

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Kansas City District, in cooperation with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, are proposing the Sedan Bottoms Restoration Project (Public Notice No. NWK-2013-1108) under Section 206 of the Water Resources Development Act of 1996 (Public Law 104-303), as amended. The purpose of the project is to restore hydrology and native floodplain vegetation to the Sedan Bottoms floodplain. The proposed ecosystem restoration project would be developed on the 758 acre refuge portion of the Sedan Bottoms Wildlife Management Area (5,589 acres), Appanoose County, Iowa.

The Public Notice and study documents were issued on August 14, 2013 and can be found at the following link. The general public and interested stakeholders can provide comments on the proposed project until August 29, 2013.
